poppy | 12-Aug-07 05:49 | This looks fantastic. Great detail and craftsmanship. |
jerry campbell | 12-Aug-07 07:21 | Not nearly as good as yours and as good as many others, but hopefully it will get better. It was not until I see the photos on the screen that I realized how heavy the balsa is on the seats. I could have use 1/32nd instead. Oh well next time. I must admit that I enjoy the smaller single engine fighters more than I do this large twin engine bomber. Seeing and comparing my efforts with other's people's work really helps a great deal. Thanks go to jgood for a photo driven site. |
David Duckett | 12-Aug-07 08:42 | Building these things is all about getting better and this already looks fine. I'm always impressed when you guys make your own interiors since it's definitely not my strong suit. |
plasticbuddha | 12-Aug-07 12:15 | Hats off to you, Jerry. A lot of scratchbuilding work but it sure looks great! |
jerry campbell | 12-Aug-07 12:24 | When I built plastic I loved doing interiors, I guess it is just a carryover, especially if I can work in 1/24th scale or close where I can get a few after market products to work with. I believe a few after market products will inspire me to scratch build many other components. I'm slowly building up parts and decals that are useble in 1/24th scale. |
poppy | 12-Aug-07 14:35 | Ditto DD, on getting better. If this gets much better, it would have to be real. My motto, "If I am satisfied with my own work, then it's OK". DD, you do not need any srong suits. Yours are as good as they get. |
plasticbuddha | 12-Aug-07 15:11 | Jerry, you are scratchbuilding in 1/48th scale (based on your remark about the Edouard photo-etched buckles). We're talking tiny parts out of wood. That takes some doing!!! |
