Finally, I think I got it on the other side of the fuselage, Thanks John. Also, in the upper right corner is my first attempt at making a prop. It's got a ways to go, but I'm getting thers. Next stop. The sanding shop. I've brushed it with two coat of Future Floor wax, for a sanding sealer. Have any of you guys tried it?

Two halves and FOUR (2 tops & 2 bottoms) keels. Never saw one like that. I'd suggest, before you again any further, check the fit of the cowling and canopy....just to be sure the fuselage is not too (fat) wide.

Correction that's..."before you go any farther, check"...

Barnstormer has a real nice close up of his fuselage showing the single keel that is shared by both sides. But if your canopy and cowl fit then no problem, if not the easiest fix is probably to sand down about 1/32" from each half. James, I just spotted the "View Build Thread", it's looking good and should prove very useful.

Thanks guys, for the "heads up", I checked and they seem to fit perfectly, I'm just fortunate that they do. Any advice on covering with balsa sheets?

Never tried the Future for a sanding sealer but I always treat my clear plastic with it prior to handling and cutting to shape. It is great for restoring the clarity on even lightly marred or scratched pieces.

Balsa sheeting advice from a novice. Pay attention to the grain...end grain also. Soak in warm water to make it flex. I use white glue, as water likes it. Clamps or rubber bands. Work slowly. Drink!

I use a piece of poster board (oaktag) first to get the shape of the pieces so the land on a former. When satisfied, then trace it onto a 1/32" sheet. I'd rather cut the stencil to fit a few times than the sheet balsa. I also only soak the exterior side of the balsa since those are the fibers I want to relax.
