Sculpting. Check! |

Long way to go yet but this one again proves that even the simplest little airplane can pose some complex model making challenges...
And I still haven’t settled on a paint scheme lol |

Those challenges are the fun part. Wait until you set it on the floats. Looking good. Could you post a separate picture of the stand it's sitting on? Please. I think it would be a good replacement for my cardboard boxes |

Anxious to see the finished project. Nice work!

I'll never be able to think of it as a simple airplane after seeing what you're doing with it. |

Don - the rack I'm using is actually part of the Dumas Amphibian (Grumman Widgeon) kit. They include the parts drawn on card stock to make this but I just used them as a pattern on 1/2" thick pine lumber...I'll take some pics of it with dimensions. It has held every fuselage under construction I have made since that first Pink Lady Widgeon I made for the wee one |

I appreciate your words of encouragement David. These little civil aircraft models from Guillow are well designed and have so much potential given their size - relative to the tiny 1/72 or rare 1/48 plastic options if you can find them. The Aeronca series are so under appreciated given the contributions to civil aviation over their decades of service. |

Looking good |

thanks, Xanadu - your Dauntless build is one I like to revisit. That would be the prewar color scheme I would apply to it also - if I ever get around to building one |
