mlriley540 | 23-Apr-17 15:59 | Short 3 minute flying session, the nose assembly for the prop broke. It was made out of wood. Otherwise plane is fine. I can craft a new one in an hour or so. |
LASTWOODSMAN | 23-Apr-17 20:13 | mlriley - was that 3 min under power or with glide mixed in? How is your braided rubber made? How many strands of what size? I need some direction ... |
mlriley540 | 23-Apr-17 21:00 | I don't know a lot about flying. You can braid 4 or 6 strands of 1/16 rubber into a motor, if you braid you should order a hook to attach it to the prop. Depending on the size of the prop and power of motor you will get 1600-2400 RPM, so, 500 turns will get you 12-18 seconds of power which is enough for a fairly eventful flight. Look up lube and hardware stuff online. |
