stirling | 09-May-10 01:02 | WOW! Detail, detail, detail!!!! Awesome. Just a suggestion. Try dipping those Guillows canopies in Future floor wax and allow to dry on a paper towel. This should make them more transparent to show off all this detail. Sometimes more than one coat can incease the clearness. |
jfinn | 09-May-10 03:36 | Thank you stirling and Roring40. I had read about the Future thing and was going to ask... |
jfinn | 09-May-10 03:40 | Oh, and can one apply paint over the Future finish? Apparently decals work well. ;o) |
frwyflyer | 09-May-10 05:25 | WOW!! This looks really GOOD!! I like your work on the instrument bezels and throttles!! |

stirling | 10-May-10 00:40 | Yes you can paint over future but you will need to seal it with either another coat of future or a clear, as the paint chips easily from Future. I know plastic kit modelers use future to recreate weathering and ware and tear chips and scratches etc. They apply future to the areas to be weathered, (usually over the primer), then apply the top coat. When dry they gently sand, scrap, or scratch to get the disired affect, then they seal it again. As far as your canopies I would paint them first then dip in Future. Good Luck. |
