Today finished duplicating every piece of balsa ( plastic bag). Fuse started and each pice fit like a glove. (Not O.J's) Shame I had to glue it.

Looking good Moos, Looks like alot of work so far.

I believe the eleventh? commandment said, "Thou shalt not covet anothers' warbird." But after seeing DD's build ...Oooops. The extra work so far was well worth it. I'm only going to use the kit supplied 3/32" stringers from the kit for additional stringers only. All other crap wood will remain in box. Main frames will be all composed of NOS wood. Hey at least the plastic parts were beautiful. Currently an auction on ebay has this kit at $207.50.(INSANE). This one was $47.00.

It's up to $223 right now. Absolutely silly bidding war between two people. About 2 weeks ago I saw a shrink wrapped one sell for about $100. Prior to that it seems like $80 was the most I had seen one go for. Builders like us don't need to be bidding against collectors with deep pocketbooks.

Sounds like you paid a reasonable price Moos. And I agree the extra work is well worth it. I cant believe I've put the amount of work I have into a ten dollar kit, but it has been alot of fun.

I paid about $80 for mine. I think it's one of their best but it most assuredly is not the easiest. This kit is designed to be flown U-Control with 2 .049 engines and that's why the wood in it is so hard (I guess). I had no trouble with it so I guess it wasn't like Moostang's. The 3/32" provided for the elevators, which pretty much control it all, is as hard as the basswood John O uses and still resides in my scrap box. This, by the way, is beautiful. And for Barnstormer, the cheapest kit in the line can become a work of art. See Chris Wheatley's work. And relative to collectors...#@%&*++++&%$#@*&^%*&*

Other maunufacturers make the Mosquito. Plans are available also. I guess the price is high because it is a discontinued kit. Hell Moos outside of the great Guillows pplastic parts, you scratched this one!

DD, your right! %#$#^??#@ the collectors, in my opinion these kits were made to be built, not sit in a box and be shuffled around from closet to closet. And yes Chris Wheatley does some of the finest work I've seen with these kits.

Careful guys or you'll make me blush! Seriously though, thanks for the kind words :-) Moostang, sounds like you got a bit of a bargain there - well done! This is looking very nice so far, keep up the good work.
