JohanB | 23-Oct-08 00:54 | The hardware store in Espoo, Finland, did not have "clear Dope" on their shelves. I tried solvent based laquer and also water soluble laquer when covering with silk span. It was a mistake. These pics were taken in the spring 2008. The Tommy was ridden by bad luck. I also had a mishap (do you spell it like this?) when trying to attach the wings. I got the fuselage and the lower wing smashed. Maybe I had a stroke of "poropeukalo" - reindeer thumbs, like the Finns say. |
JohanB | 23-Oct-08 01:23 | Building airplanes is great fun, so no need to get sad if the first try is not going well. |
Creosotewind | 23-Oct-08 12:20 | Johan, I have crushed several of the ribs on the wings of my Piper. And when attached to the fuselage, I'm always hitting the wingtips into the walls. We don't have reindeer here (only on Christmas), but I also have poropeukalo. From what I've seen, you are doing a very nice job on the Scout. |
