The M41 was named after a general Walker. Its was introduced as in the 50S as a lite recon tank as it was upgraded it became to heavy for transporting and quick deployment. It was developed by the cadilac corp.It was to replace the M24 chaffe. It saw little combat in the korean war. They used the korean war to test its defenice. It replaced the chaffe in the vietnam because the Russian T34 was stronger than the M24 chaffe.

I don't think the US used the M41 in Vietnam. The Vietnamese army did though. The US had the M48 Patton tanks at that time.
