David Duckett | 07-Jul-20 18:04 | After building this kit in 2007, over the years I gave the kit to 4 members of this group and all ( Julnick, Heywoood, and Don C., got built and are here on the site. Poppy left us before getting to his. I got this kit still factory sealed and undamaged for $40 plus free shipping so I snagged it. It has never been opened so I opened it to check the canopy. it's fine with only a small amount of yellowing common to this manufacturer. I removed and cleaned the canopy and put it in a plastic bag back in the kit. Everything will be left as is until I decide to build it. If I do it will have full landing gear. For now it sits on the shelf. |
Don C | 08-Jul-20 09:33 | Still one of my favorite builds. Thanks, DD. There's an F-16A there now for $39.99 |
heywooood | 08-Jul-20 09:46 | I loved this kit. The way the fuselage looked after being infilled was something. One thing I would do differently is the wing glove skin on the top of the fuselage. The plan says to skin it with 1/16” thick balsa sheet and provides that material. Mine has cracked. I would overlay that with laminated cardstock or underlay it with 1/32” thick birch ply.. |

julinick | 06-Sep-20 18:50 | Thank you again David for the lovely kit. It was the best balsa model kit I built and enjoyed every minute of the build! |
David Duckett | 11-Sep-20 17:02 | You are most welcome, Al. I agree. You dis a really super job on yours! Even though I have built it before that was in 2007 so it’s familiar but I plan to take this one a bit further. |
