Three years ago this kit cost about $40 on ebay.

Thanks, John. I still have this one. Luke mentioned the fin /rudder design.....

I got mine for about 25 bucks about two months ago. The box wasn't sealed in plastic so the price was low. I have seen these go much higher. Not quite in the Guillows Mosquito range, but up there like everything else and the price of gas. I really enjoy these Comet kits.

I liked both this and the Skystreak. They weren't the easiest I've built but that's part of the fun.

how difficult is this model, david, i think i might give it a try, i never have built a comet.

I have one half done. The fuselage formers are fairly delicate, but that might be due to age. The plans are sort of less than detailed, but as Dave said, the difficulty is part of the fun. Dave's model above is the pinnacle of workmanship, if I go for a year on this kit I wouldn't come close, but it is a fill-in between builds. I am doing mine based on a Stealth model rebuilt in CA and it looks great. Well, the actual plane looks great. We'll see about mine later.

how's the il-2 coming along luke?
lukebozek110-Sep-11 21:48
Really great! I have added 11 stringers in the wings, using the 3/32 technique, sheeting of the fuselage in progress it is decent. Still have some questions on the tail section, but I will post some pics. Anything is possible when slave labor and endless supplies are available.
