moostang51 | 13-Jun-08 17:27 | Must have missed this kit pick up. It appears to be the "A26A" version with cannon nose rather than glass. Been so busy, just going to sit back and watch again. Hope to start building again soon though. What a great sight James developed here at VA. |
RodN | 14-Jun-08 19:28 | David, what is the scale or wingspan of this kit? |
David Duckett | 14-Jun-08 21:13 | The wingspan is 30", scale unknown. |
Creosotewind | 16-Jun-08 15:10 | The original wingspan was 70'-0". With a 30" span for the model, the scale is 1/28, which is the same scale as the Guillows B-29, B-17, B-24 and PBY. David, do you ever sleep? |
Creosotewind | 16-Jun-08 15:27 | There are some great photos on Wikipedia showing the cockpit of an A-26. |
SteveM | 16-Jun-08 16:14 | A scan of the Comet plans are here. Take a look in the "3-view" and "Photos" folders too. |
David Duckett | 16-Jun-08 17:01 | Sleep's for kids! The box says the B-29 is 1/32 scale, same as the DC-3. |
Creosotewind | 17-Jun-08 10:01 | Yep, you are right David. I jumped the gun on the B-29. That would be one huge model at 1/28. The old, old Revell models of the SPAD, Sopwith Camel and Fokker Triplane are 1/28. Seems like an odd scale, but kits were more flexible in the old days. |
