Skyediamonds1985 | 03-Apr-16 15:39 | Fantastic job stripping the tissue!! Are you making a "proof of concept" dummy section of a fuselage in similar shape? Try out the covering, doping, and painting on the prototype before applying the results on the F-5. The challenge is the covering with the flying surfaces already in place. Not easy, just a little bit of creative work. Looks really great!! |
Skyediamonds1985 | 03-Apr-16 15:41 | By the way, glad you're trying it again. If it'll be of any consolation, I've been there a couple of times myself. I believe I speak for everyone here. |
BriandKilby | 03-Apr-16 17:19 | thanks sky, it would be a shame to let all that good work go to waste. the model masters little paint jars that I airbrush, work pretty well so i'll probably use that to prime the plane. |
Skyediamonds1985 | 03-Apr-16 17:22 | Sounds good to me. |
Don C | 03-Apr-16 18:57 | Good job, Brian. Now I'm going to push a little harder. Be sure you work on the leading and trailing edges to get them clean and smooth. Any little bumps anywhere will give you fits and wrinkles when you cover again. Try to get rid of all the white. heck my next picture. It's a handy little sanding block that let's you get a lot of places. Again, that's a great job. It's tedious work. |
BriandKilby | 03-Apr-16 19:19 | thanks don! |
