scigs30 | 17-Apr-08 00:12 | Wing surfaces shrunk, no wrinkles ready to be doped. |
Creosotewind | 18-Apr-08 11:05 | Do you soak the tissue and then lay it down to shrink around the frame, and then dope once the tissue is dry? I've been doping the wings while the tissue is still wet. Is that bad procedure? |
scigs30 | 18-Apr-08 12:54 | I always cover with dry tissue. Afer the 50/50 water Elmers dries I shrink the tissue with water. When that dries I spray dope. |
EdClark | 18-Apr-08 14:07 | Gentelmen, go to the links page from this page and read David Ducket's tutorial on covering. That should answer your questions. |
scigs30 | 18-Apr-08 15:52 | I use 50/50 Elmers and water, but I don't coat the frame and then sand. When I am done building my models I sand the frame smooth. I then cover by brushing on my glue and water mixture followed by applying the tissue. I also cover dry and not wet. Wet covering would work for Esaki tissue but Domestic tissue would fall apart. |
