James, here's one I did in '74. I think the wheels were off a Revel "Skyraider". I think. This is the sole survivor of all that used to hang in my childhood bedroom.

Wow, very cool to see, thanks Phil! I love the fact that these kits have been around for so long. Hope you don't mind, I switched this pic over to the Gipsy aircraft type for you. I hope mine looks as good, and lasts as long!

Whoops! Thanks, again. Since the vac form was transparent, I painted the inside like the car guys do.

This is a great picture. Looks like it's been stored in an old barn for years.

It does, Poppy, it looks very realistic (including the damage) excepting the prop and rigging. In fact, it looks like it's in the barn right now!

Authentic dust, don't you know!

Super photo It does look as if this gem is stored away in a barn waiting for a restoration.

Just "searched" Flickr for "Old Barns" and poster printed this one out. Every time I move this model something else falls off. It's lived a good life. It flew, then retired and survived an apparently grand war (my nephews, who inherited my old bedroom) decided that my "Air Force" hanging from the ceiling was the "Enemy" and broke out the anti-aircraft artillery. Four "Augered in" in a spectacular fashion, and the Moth was allowed to limp home minus one wing panel. Needless to say, the next time I visited,I was...astonished ...to see my decimated fleet. Oh well, boys will be boys.

Very creative! I actually thought you had an old barn for model storage. :) How did it fly? Sorry to hear about the boys vicious attacks. I could never understand the need for the need to destroy model aircraft when I was younger!

From what I can remember it flew O.K. The rigging really slowed it down (looks like rope to me). It would fly a couple of circuits and land with prop still spinning. The down thrust(or lack thereof!) might have had something to do with the flight characteristics. At that age I wasn't quite totally aware of how to trim a model or why (knew about C.G. though, thank goodness!).
