half of the exhaust plumbing is done..the easy half. Tomorrow we take on the more complex bends

that Gesso really gets a nice, smooth surface - this is an extreme close-up and it's kind of impressive. Mind you I'm not taking credit for anything - it's the frickin' GESSO and the Sherwin Williams shrink free spackle paste. Thanks again for that steer, Dave Duckett.

Until it gets in your hands, it's just gesso and spackle :-)

And those hands are doing some very nice work!

I guess I meant to say that I’m not doing anything different from before as to the process, yet the outcome is night and day different - so the materials are makng the difference. And thank you for your generous appraisals, gentlemen.

Beautiful work. Looking forward to seeing it done. If you have not yet seen it, check out "Thunderbirds", a movie from 1942, filmed at Thunderbird Field in Glendale, Arizona. Lots of film of Stearman on the ground, flying, and in closeup. And lots of magical transforming Stearman that turn into entirely different biplanes while flying. That's Hollywood for you.

thanks- and yes I have seen Thunderbirds too many times to count. Lately I've been driving Mrs heywooood crazy because I come to bed after she is asleep and promptly fire up all my you tube aviation vids..the sound is practically muted but the light from the panel wakes her up sometimes. If you don't hear from me tomorrow avenge my death
David Duckett25-Jul-18 05:58
You go to bed where your wife is sleeping and start watching airplane videos and wake her up and you want us to avenge your death? 😂😂😂😂
heywooood25-Jul-18 12:14
lol - yes..yes I do - unless I'm NOT in a forum as full of certified airplane fanatics as I thought I was

What's the expression? "A happy wife leads to a happy life."
heywooood26-Jul-18 11:35
so I guess there's only one way I could be getting away with it then..I'm just a piece of meat and candy
