| Not for us, my good man. We sometimes measure twice and cut three or four times. Lately cutting long and sanding to length works best. Seeing the little lines on a measuring stick is becoming a task! |

| I have exactly the same ruler that has always been my "go-to" tool but now I have to don some 2.00 reading glasses to read it. The bottom covering on the wing looks nice and taunt! |

| rayl, this measuring stick and I are old friends. I prefer the metric side. Today whether the metric (SI) or Imperial (standard US) unit lines are utilized, I also require optical assistance in discerning the little lines😄 |

| 2.0 is a good number, but sometimes I find 2.5 necessary. I'm looking for a ruler with thicker lines. |

| Don, great idea. We both make the lines thicker making the spaces smaller. Eventually we do not have to worry about spaces as our measuring sticks will have black lines along the edges:-)) |

| When I was teaching, my students solved their measuring skill problem, not thru learning how the scales worked, but by scribing marks upon the rulers. Most classroom measuring sticks were a vast collection of scribe marks and scratches. Eventually, this practice rendered the rulers useless. This mandated a re-supply order and a needless expenditure! Of course metal rules as the one in the photo would solve most of this problem. However rulers of this type were deemed too expensive. But wooden and plastic rulers were acceptable, when ordered in quantity, each year! Go figure the logic. For 31 years I could not!!! |

| 31 - good. I did EBD and only lasted 25. Mine put their finger on the mark and if they tripped walking across the shop had to go back and start over. |

| One thing that I do: Use a "Story Stick", which is an old cabinet makers trick. Just get a piece of plain wood, I use a stick of 1/8" X 1/4" basswood and make the distances from point "A" to point "B" right on the stick. No more squinting at the rulers 'cause now you have an absolute distance between the points. The kids knew what they doing. |
