I need some help. I can't find a piece of plastic large enough to mold the canopy. If anyone buys something that is in packaged in that hard pkastic "Blister pack". I need a flat piece at least 5X9, 6X 10 even better. I will happily pay the postage and buy you a beer or Coke or whatever. Since I will probably screw up at least one attempt, I will need more than one. Let me know if it happens. Thanks.

Don, try Evergreen plastic models or Plastruct. I think both offer clear plastic. Or Amazon...

Thanks, DD. I've purchased 2 different types of clear sheets, but neither of them want to form over the mold. I got up to 450 degrees and it just bent a little. For some reason that packaging stuff softens at 250 or so and works fine. I've used it 5 different models so far.

Whatever works. I'm very reluctant to even try it!!

Hey, if I can do it...……..:)

Don, Long time no see or hear. I'm totally responsible for that..... But I'll look right now and see if I can find any clear plastic that will fit your dimensions.....

Don, I've found some very light and flexible plastics. One of them is slightly opaque and the other is clear. Both fall within your required dimensions. I've got some pictures, but I've forgotten how to add them to your build thread, or do I have to upload them on my own thread?

A few hours on the web and I found out that what I want is PETG plastic, not styrene. There is a You tube video called "plunge molding" that finally named the type of plastic. It's for sale on Amazon. should be here next week. Thanks DD and Skyediamonds. More to follow :).

Glad to hear it worked out. Perhaps you could share the link to the video? I'm sure myself and others would benefit.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMkP3cS1lVc---------I've never tried this before, so I hope it works. Otherwise, go to You Tube and search for plunge molding canopies.
