David Duckett | 31-Dec-07 14:15 | The extra wood is where the two plastic halves meet. |
SteveM | 31-Dec-07 14:52 | Look at the light reflecting off of the silkspan, proof of an even and smooth surface under it. |
moostang51 | 31-Dec-07 14:59 | Two or three coats of dope...No trick photography here...
"Things Of Beauty" you once commented on the Lib.
Right back at ya, David. |
poppy | 04-Jan-08 06:10 | I have yet to see coverings done as perfect as yours. The prep is precise, no bumps, creases or sags. They are as smooth as I can get w/balsa. Absolutely beautiful!! |
David Duckett | 04-Jan-08 06:35 | This is my first use of Nitrate, versus Butyrate, dope for attaching the silkspan and this is with only one coat applied. The frames were sealed with three coats of 50/50 glue mixture. I will now use Nitrate for all covering and subsequent coats before starting the color. It's much better and I'm a total dumbass for not having used it before. Butyrate can now be applied on top of Nitrate but not the other way around. Live and learn. |
