I've become used to seeing your using half the rainforest in extra 3/32" stock for stringers prior to covering, that I thought I missed the skeleton. This one seems larger than a Guillow's 400 FW also. |
poppy | 04-Nov-07 07:43 | This looks like balsa over square formers, no stringers. Gonna be some carving and sanding on this one. Good show. |
David Duckett | 04-Nov-07 08:58 | Poppy's right. The sides are 3/32, the top and back bottom are 1/16 as is the cockpit assembly. No stringers are called for but I'll probably use a few on the wing since it's not totally sheeted. This is larger than the Guillows kit in that it has a wingspan of 36". It will all make sense when I finish the next phase of construction. |
John M Oshust | 04-Nov-07 10:55 | Not being as knowledgable about planes as most of you, I just Googled a FW 190 to see what it looks like. Nice choice DD it is a bad a-- looking bird and yours is starting to take form. |
