I figure it will be easier to paint the windows than trying to get the plastic windshield to fit. |

Ha Ha! That's what I ran into! |

All those years in RADAR taught me to take the path of least resistance. This windshield is a basically a bowl and the piece of clear plastic provided simply will not conform to all those curves. Even getting the pattern to fit so I could draw the front outline was a bit of a tussle. |

David, I like your philosophy of 'path of least resistance'. 70 years of hanging around this tired old planet has taught me the same path. How did you do the windshield, the same as the Comet B-26? Will be watching to see if you paint the windows blue this time. Blue looked good on the B-26. |

Yes and yes. I made a center piece from the plans and glued it in place. Then I glued layers of soft 3/16" side by side, trimming each one to fit the previous one. I'll use color of blue to match the decals, albeit lighter. |

Love your work David. I also like the manufacturer, its models could be built into nice replicas, as this site shows, plus they have excelent custormer service, however, it'd be nice if they payd a bit more attention to windshields, and provide vacuformed canopies rather than a sheet of plastic in some cases. |

is there any a-4 kits? |
David Duckett | 28-May-10 13:13 |
I'm not familiar with any. Thanks, iseaalbert. I agree. Lack of a good canopy has turned me away from many kits. |
