David Duckett | 20-Dec-07 13:04 | Through a contact at the Pima Air Museum, south of Tucson, I got a commission in 2002 to build the B 17 as the Memphis Belle for the Reagan Presidential Library to be part of their exhibit about WW 2 in the summer of 2002. When the man came to pick it up in a van I gave him the other three which had been hanging in the local hobby shop. They were all part of the display which included uniforms, weapons, posters, etc, etc, etc....When the exhibit was over the planes were headed to storage but this man had become the boss and he decided they were too fragile for that so he hung them in his office so he could watch over them. When I called the other day to see if I could get some pics he was super friendly and highly complimentary. Rob's title is a bit modest. The man he replaced had a Doctorate in history and I would guess he does, too. Nice folks! |
