Sky (Gary) when he was ever sooo young. Just finished the Swordfish model. My son was still an egg at the time.

I take that back. My son was about ooohh fourish or so. Made my own British roundels from mailing labels. Just painted on the glued surface. Cut out a circle, in this case, blue or red. Then dip in water. The glue dissolves and the paint slides off becoming the decal. Applied the same techniques to the large letter "B" on the fuselage with very good success.

That's very nice. Must have taken years to build.

Nice indeed. The rigging on the "Stringbag' must have been a treat-:)

Thank you guys. This is the most reaction from anyone I've received. Its greatly appreciated. Coming from you guys, whom to know what to look on a model, thats a true compliment. The Swordfish took me about a year to build. This was long before laser parts were available or any company specializing in offering such services. Each rib and former and all the struts were cut by hand. Used silkspan as covering.

Very nice, Sky. Do you still have it? We had a neighbour growing up, who flew in Swordfish in the war, he had amazing stories!

Jgood, unfortunately, after I moved to a new home, by the time I had a chance to get around to properly hang the model, it was attacked by rats. Tried to repair it, but didn't have the time to do a proper job. Parts languished for years until they disappeared.
