Nice clean lines. the early racers, from the Laird Solution to this one always make me wonder how those guys could see where they were going.

Half the time during this build I couldn't see where I was going...but I think it worked out, maybe. I have it done except for the prop. But paint, decals, top coat of semi-gloss and the rigging are done. Pictures tomorrow

Nice paint! How do you get such nice curves on the trim?

Masking is an important step. Lay on the tape, seal the edges with clear spray then spray on the color. There’s always touch up required. The masks are traced from a pattern and must be cut carefully - smooth curves on the mask translate to smooth curves on the airplane..

Thanks for the tip on sealing the edges of the tape. My tape always bleeds and I wondered how you guys avoided that.

It’s an important step. You can also use the base coat color as many do but I found that is causes too much buildup along the tape line. The clear coat has no pigment so it’s thinner but seals the tape just as well

Burnishing the tape edges is also important. I use a pencil eraser - just dont rub it on anything but the tape and wipe away any rubber dust before you spray the clear coat on
