Those Skyways flamingos are very cool. Great micro engineering on the sliding canopy and clam shell doors. Congratulations - I really enjoyed your build. Super looking Bipe !!

Thank you - yes the decals are really nice and look good against this paint scheme. Once the flying wires are installed I'll post the final pictures. These Dumas kits are terrific..and there are more in this 400 series of theirs.

Heywood - are there any diagrams or instructions for rigging wires in this Dumas Laird kit ?
heywooood20-May-17 21:17
None LWM - nothing - but I have the internets and found a suitable handful of photo's. The only oddity is that some pictures indicate an -X- bracing on the landing gear, in addition to the single horizontal wire - and others do not. I have an early reference book from the period that omits the -X- bracing wires so I think I'll trust that. not certain yet

FWIW the Dumas GeeBee Z kit had no bracing wire diagrams either...I have been communicating with them since the last build. They are considering creating a website and fan forum. I suggested adding a vacu-form pilot and dummy engine for these Golden Age racers since they all used variations of the Wasp or Wasp Jr. Also suggested rigging diagrams so we'll see
