sweetwillie | 24-Jan-08 00:39 | I'm trying to do my rear canopy and I'm wondering how you did it. |
Barnstormer | 24-Jan-08 05:38 | Hey Sweetwillie, I cut the top portion of the B5 former out and glued 1/4" balsa block between B4 and B6 formers. Then I sanded to basic shape of fuse, used the paper pattern from the plans to trace the shape of the side glass and carved and sanded to shape. |

Scale Nut | 25-Feb-08 19:51 | I notice in this photo that you have planked the fuselage.
how is it that some planks run the entire length of the model? did you cut away at the formers for some reason?
I am trying to learn this technique- thanks |
Barnstormer | 25-Feb-08 21:07 | Hey Scale Nut, Yes I did trim the formers for the ones that run the length. I ran the planking in these areas the full length because I thought it would be easier to get a smoother finish in the end than to run every section individually. |
Scale Nut | 25-Feb-08 22:27 | thanks, that makes sense.
I've learned alot from viewing your techniques here.and hope someday to produce such nice works of my own.

Barnstormer | 26-Feb-08 22:54 | Hey Scale Nut, I suggest you take a look at Poppys hanger along with John M Oshust, David Duckett, Moostang51, cdweatley, SteveM, RodN, and numerous others, theirs a world of knowlage to be had there. |
