David Duckett | 27-Jul-14 11:18 | Ready for the canopy. |
Creosotewind | 28-Jul-14 15:46 | The cockpit and all the other detail looks really nice, DD. I don't know about this version, but on later versions the armor plate/headrest was attached to the canopy and swung out of the way as it opened. Makes sense, especially when you had to jettison the canopy to bail out. One less thing to bonk you as you escaped the plane. |
David Duckett | 28-Jul-14 18:23 | Thanks. According to the Squadron book I have, the armor plate doesn't show up until the E model. The armor plate on the Fw-190 was attached to the canopy, sliding out of the way when the canopy was opened. |
Skyediamonds | 27-Jun-15 10:25 | Mr. DD, extremely well done! I'm still catching up with all the builds & fellow modelers. Hope you'll forgive me if I ask what method you used for covering? Balsa sheeting? Card stock? Fill-in balsa as seen on your beautiful B-17? -Sky |
David Duckett | 27-Jun-15 11:03 | Thanks. This is infill covered with silkspan. |
