John M Oshust | 23-Jan-13 14:23 | Ventral engine air vents installed. Fuselage "belly" covered and painted white. |
Dale1416 | 23-Jan-13 15:15 | My old Comet plans did not show any reference to these bottom vents. Looking great! |
John M Oshust | 23-Jan-13 15:51 | I have one photo that shows the vents. Not many photos were taken of the bottom of aero planes. If you think about it.. it makes sense. I know these water cooled engines tended to run hot. I know that the Hispano "8" ran hot which is why the Spad, many times, was flown with the engine access panels removed. |
frwyflyer | 23-Jan-13 18:24 | NICE!!! And you do know about aeroplanes. Sandbagging?? |
John M Oshust | 23-Jan-13 19:01 | Yes, I have made sandbags. Just recently as a matter of fact. A prophylactic for possible heavy rains from hurricane Sandy. Alas I received little rain but the wind caused a tree to destroy my garage. As a matter of fact I still have the sand bags. Saving them for the future! |
