This is not really what VA is about - but it is a thing I did a lot as a young teenager, in the 1950's

I have made a start on the Victor - love the shape of this Vee bomber. At a halt for a week or two due to having a ceiling installed in my garage/shop.

...There are only rafters above at the moment, and the temp. in the summer goes up to well over 100 degrees most days.

Cool set of models. Been wanting to do a scratch built balsa Meteor. It's on the list behind a few other potentials. I always liked the Vulcan myself. There was one in the Castle Air Museum in Atwater CA. I was stationed at Castle AFB for a short time and got to get a good look around the museum. Very cool. The Brits can make some really interesting looking planes.

I want to get down to Castle Air Museum. You can fly in, I think. I know they have a Vulcan there, you can see that on Google Earth.

It looks like they added a few planes since I was there in the late 80's. I don't remember the B-36, B-52 or a KC-135 being there. I would have remember those! You can tell that the airport used to be a base. Look at the names of the streets: Stratofortress Dr., Apron Ave, Hardstand Ave, Aviation Dr.

I've been working with plastic kits again recently - semi trucks and motorcycles for my grandson. I have most recently been working on the out of production Monogram F3F Grumman Gulfhawk. It was a nostalgia buy too - lol. In terrible condition with parts missing and glue dollops everywhere (not at all as advertised but oh well) live and learn
