| I went overboard with the painting. There are plenty of pictures of FW-190s with yellow tails on the internet, and there are plenty of pictures of planes with red theatre bands on the internet, (can you see where I am going with this?) but there are no pictures of FW-190s with yellow tails and red theatre bands on the internet. |

| The red band is not a theater marking but a Defence of the Reich band or marking. Different colors and color combination bands were issued to various units on the Western Front. These bands can be found on the web. |

| If you google Defence of the Reich bands you can see a list of colors. I believe JG 1 had red bands. JG 1 did fly 190s with red bands. |

| JG 1 at various times flew with both yellow rudders and yellow lower cowls. But remember those 190s with red DotR markings would most likely have been A-8s, though of no consequence for building a flyer. Happey landing! |

| This plane is a "former flyer". It has flown, and much like the planes in the Smithsonian, could possibly fly again if it really had to - but probably never will. This plane will most likely end up on a stand gracing my desk. I still have some details left to add - a few panel lines, the exhaust, the guns and radio aerial, a tailwheel and some markings beyond the decals. |
