John M Oshust | 21-Feb-08 19:44 | Are those plastic screws? |
OLD A&P | 21-Feb-08 23:44 | The screws are steel allen set screws !/4 20 3/8 long,I got from Lowes. Hard to tell I know because everything has a coat of gray primer on it. I have used threaded plastic rod in the past . It is cheap and works good and is easy to cut. Used plastic rod on my Spirit of ST. Louis. These little allens were the right size, so I used them this time. The rocker boxes are balsa, you don`t see them much once the engine is in the cowling.I found 1:32 scale plastic Wright R1830 engines on the inter-net that look really cool, but at 30 bucks each It`s too much for the old pocket book |
