BriandKilby | 12-Oct-17 16:24 | building this c-130 for my dad who use to fly them. |
David Duckett | 12-Oct-17 17:24 | This amazing aircraft first flew in 1954! I flew on one once in Viet Nam with no seats so we sat on the floor and used cargo straps for seat belts. They are still flying around here as ECM versions ( electronic counter measures ). |
BriandKilby | 12-Oct-17 17:46 | that's pretty funny, at least they didn't shove you out the back, dd! |
biplane guy | 13-Oct-17 08:33 | The C-130 was, and still is, an amazing aircraft. I worked in the flight surgeons' office at Langley AFB in the mid 1960s where the 4500 Air Base Wing was located. I drove a crash ambulance to the flight line on many occasions when a C-130 was on approach with an engine out. The time I remember best was when one lost two more engines on the way in and made a perfect landing on the one remaining engine. |
BriandKilby | 13-Oct-17 09:01 | wow! my dad flew in the Delaware national guard in the 60's and 70's. |
