JohnG. | 17-Dec-08 18:03 | She's a beaut!!! |
Luke War | 17-Dec-08 23:09 | Real nice VP! I hope mine turns out half as well when/if I ever get around to building her! |
Luke War | 17-Dec-08 23:09 | How did she fly? |
VP46 | 18-Dec-08 01:08 | Smoking fast! If my 24 in Guillow Conversions are hitting 28mph this one was easily double that. I'd love to know just how fast....just to get an idea how fast fast really is. It will fly at 1/4 throttle for 2 or 3 circuits before she starts to loose altitude. It is a Race plane - Yank and Bank. It glides forever and is very hard to slow down you have to be thinking far ahead of her.
She would loop from level flight - which is a joke because if you point the nose up she would just keep going and going and going...
Other than the rocket ship characteristics she is a very stable flyer, very predictable but she does get small VERY fast.
Be sure to secure the Horizontal Stab - I nearly lost mine at the end of the flight. I think the cause was due to the front and Rear of the Stab being the only parts that were glued there was a dry spot in the middle. If you couple this weakness with the serious G-forces pulling on this plane its suprising that its still in one piece.
