This is the extent of the build plans. I found a copyright 1950 at the bottom and I believe it! Everything is brittle, but at five cents the price was right! :) |

James, could you please create an appropriate category for this little jem when you get the chance? Thanks! |

I think this may be the first model I ever built. The kit cost $.25 at that time. I got paid $1.25 a day, one day a week, working in the Tobacco field, driveing a mule. This was in the mid 50s in south Georgia. What a memory you have brought back! |

Jdaawa, Thats awesome that it's brought back such memories. As I mentioned in the previous photo I copied all the plans and what wood there is, so how about this: If you'd like this I'd love to pass it along to someone who would truely appreciate it. You'll probably have to make new parts from scratch, but if you'd like it than its yours. Just say the word. :) |

Luke,That's a very generous offer. I'm not a collector, the box and original plan should go to someone who will preserve it. I would like a copy of the plan and the print wood. I think the wood was die cut, can you copy it? I'm at jdaawa@comcast.net. Alex |

This brings back a few memories for me also. My older brother had polio in the summer of '52. Since there still were some concerns about the spread of it, I was quarantined at home for almost a month. I think I built every struct-o-speed kit available. I only had access to black paint, so I had a bunch of black models hanging from the ceiling. They were fairly simple to build for a 9 yr. old with nothing else to do. Use your imagination as to what they looked like, but I thought they were beautiful. |

Wow, Im stoked that this little thing is bringing back some memories for so many! Thats really kinda cool in my humble opinion! Alex, I've already made copies of this so I'll be sure to scan it and email it to you in the next day or so. Poppy, if you want a copy also just let me know...I'd love to see a throwback all black Bonanza! :) |

Luke, thank you! I'll be on the look out for it. I will be away part of the week end, but I will confirm when I have it. Poppy, I only had a 2oz bottle of silver oil base paint and a brush from WT Grants "Dime Store". I washed up in gasoline because we always had fuel for the tractor.(John Deere L) All of my planes were silver. Alex |

Luke, I have it! There's enough here that I think I can build it. I am now convinced that this is my first model, seeing the plans I remember I broke a side panel(instead of bending it). I thought that it was ruined until I figured out that I could glue it back. I don't remember them being this small! Many thanks! Alex |

Thats great to hear Alex, glad I could help you out! Funny you should mention breaking the side panel b/c thats how this one came! We will have to compare models when they're done. Im thinking of trying to make mine a rubber slingshot launch instead of prop driven...should be interesting! Happy building! |
