John M Oshust | 14-Jan-10 11:36 | Remember Schnazola the crop duster? It was in the shop for a pre transport dusting and inspection. It has been about 6 months since its completion. I noticed that the balsa must have dried and the entire plane has shunk a bit. The music wire rigging was bowed and the polyspan had sagged. I cut small sections from the wires and installed Al tubing ferrules, crimped on one end. The rigging is straight again and the ferrule should allow for linear change with temp. |

John M Oshust | 14-Jan-10 11:47 | Not basement, it was hanging in my den. The heating season and winter....low hunidity. All surfaces are tight and the wood must be dry. Look at the other photo, I think you can see how tight the wings are again, like the day they were covered. |
JohnG. | 14-Jan-10 13:23 | Yep, Super , John. My original queery and your f/u explanation crossed simultaneously |
