heywooood | 15-Apr-17 13:06 | unfortunately I do not have any images from the build. The kit was a rescue of sorts. My neighbor came up to me one day and said "I have this old model kit - I started it but never finished..do you want it?" well - I had almost bought this plane a few times on ebay since it was discontinued so yeah! The cowling was split almost in half and I had to remake most of the fuselage bulkheads using the plan drawings as a template..Sterling, like Guillows, fortunately draws every former - so helpful. Anyway - the cowl was repaired by using a piece of the scrap plastic from the wheel pants sheet and some Tamiya liquid plastic cement. The scrap was cut into a strip that covered the crack on the inside of the cowl. once it was set I painted the exterior of the cowl along the seam with the same cement, sanded it smooth and Bob's yer uncle |
David Duckett | 15-Apr-17 13:33 | Nice! |
Don C | 15-Apr-17 14:05 | You have posted some very nice models. Really good work. |
heywooood | 15-Apr-17 14:13 | I love planes from the Golden Age of Flight probably a little more than the rest...just a shade. But if it has two wings, a round engine, and spats - I'm in love |
