Skyediamonds1985 | 22-Aug-16 23:29 | Very nicely done. Real Spitfires were full of compound curves and each wing had a different sized rib. Very difficult to build and model. The wing-to-fuselage fillet were especially a challenge to replicate in model form. This is a very good job, especially considering you used two different coverings for the camouflage. |
MMitch2782 | 23-Aug-16 07:49 | Sky, you are right on it. The EB model fuselage is curved at the wing fillet whereas the actual is straight. The curve made me fabricate a stiff paper fillet which is not quite scale. But I enjoy the challenges. |
Skyediamonds1985 | 23-Aug-16 15:16 | Excellent job. That's part of modeling, is the challenges that we bring upon ourselves to replicate a model we feel deserves "more." The wing fillet is a good example. Very good build. |
