reginaldian | 25-Jan-08 15:59 | Poppy: what is the difference between Hobbylite and Micro Fill???? |
poppy | 25-Jan-08 17:18 | Hobbylite is a balsa like fill that hardens just like balsa wood and is sandable, but not as easy to sand as Micro-Fill. It is heavier in texture than the micro-fill, which is actually micron sized foam balloons. I like to use the Hobbylite to fill areas that need some build up, like a sag between stringers, or in this case to build up top of nose cowl from canopy front to where balsa block begins by 1/16" to get proper slope of cowl top to spinner. I then use the Micro fill to fill in small indents left. Micro-fill is best for wing fairings because it is so easy to sand to shape. |
