hjlittman | 25-Aug-11 19:27 | Covering on. Fuselage is OK, but this is the first time I tried to cover a wing with pre-shrunk tissue. Metallized Esaki is not the best choice for a first attempt at any technique. I'm going to rip it off and do it again. |
jace314 | 25-Aug-11 19:29 | I like the look of the metal tissue. Does it come with the kit, or did you order it seperate? |
hjlittman | 25-Aug-11 19:34 | I bought it at Smith Brother's Hobbies in Northridge (CA). It is best worked wet, as here on the fuselage, but it takes practice because it doesn't shrink the same way as other tissues. This is the same stuff I used on the Air Force Beaver. You can't paint or print on it and all details have to be either decals, tape or glued on paper. |
TJH | 26-Aug-11 06:14 | I had the same experience with my T28 wings and had to have a do-over. I found that it worked best wet in small sections. |
pfinn | 26-Aug-11 08:03 | Hjlittman, Smith Brothers....I do my best to NOT go there. I end up buying some thing I don't really need. Like another kit! ;o). SB is my favorite hobby shop. |
