Black is in the plan. I stained it to see what it looked like. The turle deck is balsa, the sides bass. JohnG. 27-Jan-14 18:02 Actually I think it's looking right nice. I like the contrast. John M Oshust 27-Jan-14 20:14 I started planking the nose today. I steel wooled the turtle and put some additional stain on and waited, then buffed with a cloth. The balsa and bass do accept stain differently but today,s result was satisfactory. I may change the finishing plan.
