scigs30 | 08-Oct-09 15:49 | Your build looks great, nice job on the nose block. I just finished mine and posted pictures on this site. Just by replacing the wood and no other changes, mine came out to 19grams. That is still a little heavy, but guaranteed to fly. |
rope01 | 08-Oct-09 16:29 | Thanks for the comment. The only wood from the kit I'm using are the fuselage formers which is why Im cutting them up a bit. I hope with the rest of the build made from lighter balsa this one will do a bit better than my first build the FW190 which was a bit of an old dog. Hopefully with each build I'll improve. Out of curiosity does anyone ever make a 400 series with rubber power or is this a step too far? |
scigs30 | 08-Oct-09 16:47 | Yes, I have built the Zero and Mustang for Rubber. I replaced some of the wood and only used every other rib for the wing. I may have even skipped a stringer or two on the wing. The Mustang flew ok and the Zero was too heavy but it did fly. I ended up adding Cox engines to both and they flew great. |
