You gonna glue the front of the canopy down?
BriandKilby08-Sep-15 13:46
eventually?
BriandKilby08-Sep-15 16:53
I just put it there to take the picture. i'll glue it on when I get my ordinance ready to put on. any pointers for attaching it? I've got the formula 560 glue. it takes a while for it to dry, what should I do to keep it attached?
David Duckett08-Sep-15 16:23
Is the canopy glued on at all?
David Duckett08-Sep-15 17:19
Trim off the excess at the front. There is paint everywhere the canopy meets the fuselage so I would use CA. I put a small amount on a piece of foil and use the point of a pin to apply it. You probably don't need to tape it in place, just hold the front down and glue it first. DO NOT try to glue the entire canopy all at the same time. I believe I just mentioned this in the Typhoon build.

thanks dd, the inside of the canopy hasn't been painted, if that means anything?
David Duckett08-Sep-15 18:08
Doesn't matter....

The phantom is looking good, Brian!
BriandKilby09-Sep-15 11:24
thanks jgood, I like it too!

My second build of the Todays Hobbies F-4 is far and away my favorite build. With this one there are a total of three on the site and that seems really strange considering how many were built and their importance in aviation history. But then, Brian and I seem to be nearly the only ones with any interest in jets and that is equally puzzling. ( There are a couple of others on here but they are rare)

I like the Vietnam era builds also.

dd, I dropped a drop of ca on the clear inside of the canopy, there's a smudge on it. is there a way to get it off? I tried debonder, but that didn't work? I would buy a new one from dumas, but I don't think they sell them separately. brian.

Oops!! I know of nothing to remove it but Dumas will probably send you another one.
BriandKilby11-Sep-15 16:51
thanks dd.

I called Dumas and they will send one to me and I'll send it to you. Your address was lost with the recent computer problems but you have mine so send it and I'll send the canopy when I get it.
