don is there way to keep the thinned balsa such as the rudder and elevator from warping when you dope it? |

It's been a while since I did that. Usually I wet covered with silkspan. Coat both sides with thinned dope and let dry, repeat. Usually I would do at least 3 coats, depending on what I intended to do with the plane. I think you might get a better idea from Scigs30 or simpleflyer. |

I was thinking maybe I could use a 3/32" sheet or 1/16"(?) for the elevator. does the sheet come in 6" width? thanks brian. |

Have you checked any balsa supply outfits to see if they carry 6" widths, Brian?? |

I found some in 3/32" and 1/16". do you think the 1/16 would be to thin and might still warp when doped? |

Try doping a 1/16" piece and see. |

Or laminate 2 thicknesses with grains running perpendicular. That might do it. That way you can also get the size you need. |
