David Duckett | 01-Sep-15 06:06 | The green used is a mixture of Chromium Oxide Green, Burnt Umber, Raw Sienna, and gray. |
rayl | 01-Sep-15 07:19 | David, do you a color wheel to mix your paints? |
David Duckett | 01-Sep-15 07:25 | Absolutely! Although working with the same brand of paint for 50 years certainly helps:-) |
julinick | 01-Sep-15 10:20 | Since you are my mentor, I've purchased Liquitex paint for the B-29 which I just recently resumed the build. Great model by the way David. Always love your work. |
David Duckett | 01-Sep-15 10:41 | Thanks:-) |
David Duckett | 04-Sep-15 10:45 | A word about the gray. Mixed with the green, gray tones it down removing the harsh nature of the color. When the final green is suitably mixed, adding gray lightens it and that reduces some of the transparency making it suitable for a first and second coat of gray/green. That will make application of the main color easier as it doesn't show its transparent side as much when there's a suitable undercoat. |
