kenm94591 | 10-Mar-19 18:35 | Decided to start the build by building my version of the Pratt & Whitney R-1340 Wasp. I will be using hex set screws as the cylinder heads but it looks like they may be bigger than I want. Looks like the wrong scale. |
kenm94591 | 10-Mar-19 19:13 | Well I found a use for my Lego's. I built this in order to glue up the prototype cylinders for the P-26 Peashooter. I had to file down the top sides in order to get the correct angle. I need to go back to the hardware store to get smaller set screws at the top. Only have nine of these to make then have to add valve springs, pusher rods, spark plugs, spark plug wires for the front. Need to also add intake and exhaust on the back.
I am going to be using 5/16" x 3/8" hex allen set screws for the base and 1/4" x 1/4" for the top. |
kenm94591 | 11-Mar-19 12:55 | Thanks Heywood. I have the completed Peashooter in mind just not sure I have the skills to pull it off. This will be a long build as I am distracted from the P-51 build. It is too cold to dope and I need to wait for warmer weather. Even in warmer weather the wife is not happy about doping in the garage. |
Don C | 11-Mar-19 13:00 | Looking at this, I'm pretty sure you have the skills. |
