kenm94591 | 27-Apr-19 11:55 | Been sidlined recovering from some surgery and my sister visiting but got up to Nevada City to visit some frinends. Used Doug Young's drill press to start the shapeing of the cowl. |
kenm94591 | 27-Apr-19 13:25 | Doug took some time off from his volunteer work restoring the North Star House to help me. The North Star house was designed and built by Julia Morgan in 1905 long before Hearst Castle. Glad he has a good drill press.
Changed from a 2” ABS to a 2” PBS slip joint for the cowl material. Had to taper from 6/32” to 3/32” to get the profile I wanted. Using Doug’s drill press with the table set at a 5 ° angle and a sanding disk and some trial and error(s) and other tricks we got what I was looking for. Now I have to get the correct profile for the front of the cowl.
