Don C | 11-Jun-19 21:43 | Finally got 2 sets of scale drawings. They match, but unfortunately the plans don't - coke bottle shape missing and the wings and tail feathers are too big. Looks like it will be a scratch built. There are enough different cross sections to make formers and I'll use the method from DD's Mossie fora athe fuse and use 1/8th stringers for the skin like the Today's Hobbies kits. Intakes will be the toughest I think. |
Don C | 14-Jun-19 11:09 | Does anyone have a Mattel's Vacuform? If so, can it make canopys? |
Anders | 14-Jun-19 12:54 | Hello Don, i think it's about time i gave some life signs!
I had a picture of a nice vacum former that you can make yourself, unfortunatley i lost many pictures and this was one of them.
Instructions are simple tho.. a frame with wing- nuts to fasten the plastic sheet, a plywood sheet with lots of holes and a plywood sheet with an adapter for your industrial or common vacum cleaner. Turn on your vaccum and use your heat gun to shape the plastic sheet. |
Don C | 14-Jun-19 18:53 | Anders, takk saa mye. Det er noksaa lett. I think I can build that. Hope things are well in Norway. Good to hear from you.
