pfinn | 04-Apr-09 21:22 | And this is what you get with a Series "500" kit. Sorry, ancient plans. And the Vac cowl doesn't come close to this profile. |
FLYBOYZ | 04-Apr-09 21:39 | The BF109C has a shorter tail more like a ME109.I take one of each!HE HE!I was wondering why thier was such a long tail on my messerschmitt it was hard to balance out.Took a 1/4 inch off the tail.Still added a 1/2 inch nut in the nose. |
jerry campbell | 04-Apr-09 23:07 | Thanks for the drawings. they are very helpful. |
hjlittman | 05-Apr-09 15:11 | Interestingly enough, in true scale the Bf-109 has a longer nose and a shorter tail. If they had kept to scale they would have a better flying rubber powered model. I think that the drawings for the 400 and 500 series Messerschmitts were done from the Guillow's pre-war solid model plans. Pre-war solids were notoriously inaccurate. I have a Comet, SuperStar, Bf-109E kit from the 1960s in my closet, and looking at the plans, it really is a Bf-109E. Now if I can just make the time to build it. |
SteveM | 05-Apr-09 16:16 | I just compared the plans from the 400 series to the 500 series and they look the same except that the 400 series has a few more scale details and the nose has a smaller proportion made from plastic. |
