This is an 18 inch span, rubber powered model, weighing 17.5g, without rubber. The lozenge pattern, on the tissue, was done with an inkjet printer.

Here is a flight video of the model: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-ehIoolh_0. Albatros W.IV The model was very stable due to the pendulum effect of the floats. It was, however, difficult to get a long flight due to the extra drag and weight of the floats. The floats also restricted the prop size.

Did you also make the plans for this one? If so, I would like to know how you make them.

I made my own plans from this one, mostly based on some 3 views. Sometimes I will scale up the 3 view to the size I want and print it out. This will usually be too rough to build from and I will lay a piece of tracing paper on top and draw clean lines. The tracing paper is nice to work with, as you can draw, on a separate sheet, the parts, like the bulkhead, by taking measurements from the top and side views. - For the flight in the video, I think I had around 800 turns.

John, what a beautiful plane with a great finish. Love to see it flying.

John the video is great. Without the floats that plane was through the ceiling. Very well done!
