scigs30 | 14-Dec-10 14:34 | It was a nice calm day so I decided to take my Boston Cub out for a test flight. I used 1/8 rubber and did not wind her up all the way since the field is a little on the small size for Bostonians. She pretty much flew off the board with a tiny bit of clay in the nose. The first test flight she flew a little further than I thought she would fly and the tail caught the bottom of a branch, very little damage. I then added my turn tab to the wing and flew her again. This time she flew nice and slow like the real cub and flew over a min. That is not bad for a test flight. Then I called it quits and went back home. I scanned my 54 inch Piper J3 Cub that I designed when I was younger and maybe I will build that. It is a simple design based off the Comet 54 inch kits. |
