'C' Flight, 25th Aero Squadron Austin-built Royal Aircraft Factory SE.5a, equipped with 200 hp Wolseley Viper. Only 38 of this famous dogfighter were purchased from the British... The Royal Aircraft Factory SE.5a was one of the types adopted for mass production in the United States by Curtiss... Only 56 aircraft were assembled from British parts, and these were later rebuilt by Eberhart to serve as trainers.
